virgin islands sailing charter vacation in bvi and day sails from St Thomas

Things to Bring for your Sailing Vacation

If you only remember one thing, make it this one...

DO NOT BRING HARD SUITE CASES! BRING SOFT BAGS that can be stored easily and conform to the shape of any storage compartment.

It is very difficult to store a hard suite case in a boat. Soft duffle bags is the ONLY way to go! TRAVEL LIGHT... YOU REALLY DON'T NEED MUCH

MORE THAN A BATHING SUITE, A COUPLE OF SHORTS AND MAYBE 3 T SHIRTS. Perhaps long pants and a nice shirt if you plan to eat out a night.

You will probably want to pick up some soulveneer T shirts as you visit the various islands.

We provide towels and basic toiletries. If you have a favorite shampoo or tooth paste, bring it. Tooth brushes are a very personal item so

we suggest you bring your own. Your favorite deodorant might be another item to pack.

DON'T FORGET THE SUNBLOCK! BRING A 40 OR HIGHER RATING TO BLOCK OUT THE SUN.

BRING A SNORKELING T SHIRT TO WEAR WHILE SNORKELING TO KEEP THE SUN OFF YOUR BACK. A DARK COLOR WILL KEEP YOU WARM WHILE

SNORKELING.

Sandals are a favorite tropical foot protection. Bring water proof rubber type sandals so that you can get off the dinghy at a beach landing

without ruining your shoes and still have foot protection.

If you plan to hike, you might want to bring sneakers. Some people don't mind hiking in sandals as long as they're sturdy.

We have nice snorkel gear but if you are very fussy and nothing but your gear will do, then bring it. But you might want to lean more towards

traveling light, so decide if you absolutely must have your gear.

BRING A HAT OR TWO for protection from the sun. A regular base ball cap packs easily.

AND DON'T FORGET YOUR CAMERA! You might also want to pick up a disposable under water camera. It would be nice if you had a picture of

that manta ray or turtle you saw to prove it!
